aria
aria: feminine noun, from italian, air.
casa aria is about the antithesis created when designing a residence whose principles of lightness, openness and expansion confront the strength of the prisms that shape the project, ensuring that its “air” can exist.
the project was set on a site with a wide street frontage but short depth perpendicular to the facade. therefore, the residential block closes toward the street and opens completely toward the lake view in front of the plot.
the 62-meter slab was designed in white concrete so the large volume could convey subtlety, and it is cut at obtuse angles that direct natural light and ventilation into the building. to ensure these natural conditions reach the interior, vertical concrete elements were used as a design strategy, integrating with the marked horizontality of the block and allowing environmental comfort resources to permeate the house.
in addition, the vertical brises define an important point in the house, where the vertical circulation and an internal garden divide the prism into distinct uses — one sector with more intense activities and another social area.
casa aria was designed for family leisure; therefore, the ground floor contains several amenities so recreation is always available, including a large game room that opens to an outdoor multisport court. the ground level is prepared to host many guests in its social area, with a privileged view of the infinity pool aligned with the lake horizon.
