cordillera

cordillera house was born from the client’s desire to have a residence with prominent cantilevers. the overhangs are strategically layered to overcome the pronounced change in level and to create the spaces that make up the residential program.

a key aspect of the project was shifting the horizontal planes toward the mountain range, ensuring that the main views of the house are oriented toward monterrey’s remarkable natural landscape.

due to the city’s extremely dry climate throughout the year, the incorporation of elements that help maintain a balanced microclimate was essential. therefore, an internal garden was designed to frame views that do not face the mountains, along with a reflecting pool intersected by a network of paths and walkways. these elements create a promenade through the ground floor and basement levels, which house the residence’s social areas.
